Joy Green is a board certified dermatology Physician Assistant. After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Health, Human Development and Medical Studies at The Pennsylvania State University, Mrs. Green decided to pursue a career in medicine. She earned a Masters of Medical Science in Physician Assistant studies at the Eastern Virginia Medical School. Upon graduation, Mrs. Green became board certified by the National Commission of Physician Assistants and immediately began her career practicing as a Dermatology Physician Assistant in the State of Maryland. She’s gained valuable experience in the evaluation and management of various medical and surgical dermatologic conditions.
Mrs. Green is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and a Fellow of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
Mrs. Green is thrilled to be apart of our team with plans to provide the highest quality of care to her patients. She has special interests in skin cancer screening and prevention. Mrs. Green prides herself on taking time with her patients, answering all their questions, and developing individualized treatment regimens tailored to their needs.
Mrs. Green is a native Washingtonian and currently resides in Washington, DC with her husband. She enjoys traveling, running and spending time with family and friends.
Nicole is a board certified family nurse practitioner and a local Marylander. She grew up on Maryland’s eastern shore and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from The Johns Hopkins University in 2005. Upon graduation, she was selected to participate in a pediatric internship with the National Institutes of Health and then went on to practice as a registered nurse in the field of pediatrics at Georgetown University Hospital. Nicole spent five years at Georgetown caring for pediatric patients in hematology-oncology, medical-surgical and health maintenance settings. In 2010, she earned her Masters of Science degree in Nursing from Georgetown University and has been practicing dermatology ever since.
Starting in 2011, Nicole has provided comprehensive dermatology care in Frederick, Maryland from routine full skin examinations to management of common and complex skin conditions. While Nicole has had advanced training in several areas of dermatology, she joins Dr. Hendi’s team to pursue where her heart truly lies – early skin cancer detection. She has over six years of experience performing skin cancer screenings and skin cancer treatments.
Nicole is member of the Dermatology Nurses Association. She has a passion for patient education and strives to advocate and empower patients to love the skin they are in and to safely have fun in the sun! In her spare time, Nicole loves spending time with her family, enjoys sports and travels any chance she gets.
Joy Kunishige is a native of Chicago. She was a National Merit Scholar and All-American Cheerleader. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in Microbiology and Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Florida in Gainesville. In 2003, she completed the accelerated Medical Honors Program and received her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Florida. Dr. Kunishige was recognized as Florida’s Top Medical Student by the Florida Medical Political Action Committee, where she served as the only student delegate. Dr. Kunishige did research in Cutaneous Lymphoma and was Chief Resident during her dermatology residency at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center & the University of Texas in Houston. She pursued her fellowship in Mohs Surgery, Cutaneous Oncology, and Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, under the direction of Drs. John Zitelli & David Brodland. This training program was one of the few officially approved by both the American College of Mohs Surgery and the AMA’s Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education.
Dr. Kunishige has performed over 10,000 cases of Mohs surgery and is an expert in cutaneous oncology and reconstruction. She serves as Associate Director of the renowned Zitelli & Brodland fellowship training program. She is also a Clinical Assistant Professor for the Department of Plastic Surgery and teaches residents from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center’s Dermatology, Otolaryngology, and Plastic Surgery departments. Dr. Kunishige authors numerous articles on melanoma, cutaneous lymphoma, and board review and is the author of New Beauty Magazine’s book: Beautiful Skin Revealed. She lectures on reconstruction techniques and melanoma in situ.
Dr. Kunishige is a board-certified dermatologist and active member of the American College of Mohs Surgery, American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and Women’s Dermatologic Society.
